What to Watch

(You will find no suggestions here. You will only find some relatable ranting and some giggles. I promise.) 

Imagine this: You open Netflix and find no suggestions, no special picks tailored for you, no "recently added" titles, and no recommendations! Surprised, you turn to YouTube, only to find that there's no way to check the number of views, and nothing is trending. Just an endless ocean of channels, videos, and content pours in every second. What will you search for? What will you watch?

In a library with millions of books, do you ever think that there's that one perfect book, magazine, or story waiting to be discovered, just by you? There's a genre you haven't explored yet, but it's waiting only for you to find it? I often get the same feeling here.

I understand that algorithms keep us updated on what's happening in our areas of interest, but sometimes I feel the need for a break from constantly being guided.

When I open a show or play a video, it's usually for two reasons: 

• Other people are watching it, or
• The platform recommends it.

After the 9–5 mind-circus, who has the time to sit and think, "What do I actually want or need to watch?"?

In this chaos, I've forgotten many of my old favorites, nostalgic 90s content, and things that resonate with me, simply because I never found the time to invest. Not to mention that I also forgot how to explore more, watch carefully, listen wholeheartedly, and see what I might love beyond my mundane interests.

I wish platforms got a little more creative and included some fun, encouraging, and much-needed categories for an overthinker like me. 

• Leave your comfort zone, you sloth. 👊
• Removed from your list because you didn’t care enough to watch it in a year. 😒
• Hidden from you for a while because no one should watch 5 crime documentaries in a row. 🙉 
• I challenge you to watch this until the end. 👉
• You dismissed them without giving them a fair chance. 💔
• We believe you were scrolling on your phone when watching this. 📲
• Watching something educational once in a while won’t hurt you. 📚
• We know your guilty pleasures. 😉
• Enough rom-coms, please! You need a reality check! 😑
• Do you have any emotions, you robot? 🤖
• Why did you set a reminder if you were never going to watch? ⏰
